As good as possible Colin Rea Matt Boyd is the season and the Cubs need more to start pitching, especially Steele for a year, and Imanaga has had a few more laps in the rotation. Sandy Alcantara It seems obvious, but he has been struggling so far this year. Who else can the cubs target?

Mark asked:

But yes, the Cubs need to add a starter this summer. Boyd hasn't exceeded 88 innings in a season since 2019, a threshold he expects to reach on June 25. I filed this case in March, that Boyd's recent injury history doesn't necessarily mean he can't make it to 150+ innings, but he is 34 years old and the Bears' depth can't be pushed further. Ben Brown has never exceeded 104 innings and he is working hard to get there until the end of July. Cade HortonThe career high in 2023 is 88 1/3 innings. On his next outing, he will pass last year's total of 34 1/3 frames.

The following teams have less than 1% chance in the playoffs, so it may be convincing most of them to make starting pitchers now: White Sox, Nationals, Marlins, Pirates and Rockies. Angels belong here too, but since they are 4.5 games in wildcards, maybe they need more time to wave the white flag. Here are the starting pitchers that may be offered from these clubs:
