Metropolitan designated Jose Castillo for assignment

Metropolis has designated left-handed Jose Castillo For the work, according to the club announcement. This move makes room for left-handed people Gregory Soto To the active 40-person roster. Soto was awarded from the Orioles on Friday.
Castillo, 29, has been making his debut with Padres in 2018. The rookie year, he threw in 3.29 ERA with a 2.64 FIP in 38 1/3, while beating his opponent with a 34.7% cut. It was an impressive performance, but over the next six seasons, Castillo’s injury and ineffectiveness limited three outings. During these outings, he threw five runs in two games while hitting three games in two innings, despite posting nice numbers on the third-level A, issuing 4.32 ERA at a 4.32 ERA in 125 innings, with a strikeout rate of 29.1% during that period.
The lefty eventually surfaced this year and allocated time between the Metropolitan and the Rattlesnake. He performed poorly on five outings in Arizona as he surrendered eight hits and three walks while hitting only three of 6 1/3 frames, but he has performed better with 2.19 ERA and 2.76 FIP since joining the Mets in May. Castillo has been designated as a mission this season and has completely beaten the New York squad. Unless the Mets are able to engage in trade involving him before Thursday’s trade deadline, he will be in the waiver process again. If he is exempted from claiming again, he will have the opportunity to accept the Mets’ direct mission to the minor league, or elect a free agent, at which point he will be free to sign with any of the league’s 30 clubs.
And more.
