Manchester City hopes to sign a £34m winger ahead of fierce rival Manchester United, a new report shows.
Manchester City Chase Bruin Alternatives
Kevin de Bruyne played in the Blues before Etihad's match ended. The Belgians have been excellent performers for Man City and Pep Guardiola, so it's hard for them to find players who can replicate what De Bruyne does.

Major Doku upgrades: Man City Eye Up Moving's 'world-class superstar' for £85m
Manchester City is expected to spend a lot of time this summer, can they sign up for a £85m “special” winger, and who will be a big upgrade for Jérémy Doku?
According to a recent report, Manchester City has submitted a £55 million bid to sign James Maddison from Tottenham Hotspur. Guardiola is a big fan of the British because his creativity and style of play make him the ideal player who has the potential to replace De Bruyne. However, it is not clear whether the proposal is enough to convince the Spurs to sell Madison, but Tottenham missed European football to convince them to reach a deal.
In addition to watching Madison, Man City is also interested in signing Morgan Gibbs of Nottingham Forest.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are planning to promote the Gibbs-White deal, and personal terms are not a problem. However, Forest has offered the British star a £100 million price, and Manchester City will have to negotiate with Forest chiefs to find a deal.

In addition to finding a new No. 10, Guardiola also hopes to add to his wide range of options, with Manchester City keen on signing Lisbon Sports’ Francisco Trincao as incoming sporting director Hugo Viana is his big fan, according to Offside.
The report notes that Trincao has become one of the most popular players in European football matches, as Premier League teams such as Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle United keep an eye on the wingers. However, they all face competition from Europe as Barcelona and Juventus are also following Trinco into the summer.
It went on to point out that Manchester City's pursuit of Trincao comes from Viana, who will join Blues as the new sports director of Sporting CP. Viana, a long-time admirer of the winger, is believed to be a laggard in this potential transfer, which could end up costing €40 million, or about £34 million.
Man Utd and Ruben Amorim are also following Trincao as he works with players from Portugal. However, City may hope they have another advantage in this game, as Trincao, who was called “exciting” by former Wolves technical director Scott Sellars in the past has the same agent as current Bruce defender Ruben Dias.
