Masyn Winn has knee surgery this week and is expected to prepare for spring training

Cardinal Shortstop Masyn Winn The club plans to have arthroscopic knee surgery on Thursday, which told reporters (including John Denton of MLB.com and Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post Office). Winn played a ripped cornering board in the second half before being shut down a few weeks ago. The relatively small program is not expected to affect his availability for spring training.
Winn is finishing his second major league season. This year, his offense hit .253/.310/.363 in 537 sets. Winn had 15 home runs, 15 home runs and 32 doubles a season ago with a slash slightly above average .267/.314/.415. The injury may have played a role in it. Winn ran .198/.265/.281 in his last 132 in-dish tournaments. The 23-year-old plays in pain, and the Cardinal holds hope for a long playoff spot. St. Louis finally chose to turn him off and turn his attention to 2026.
To his credit, Winn does not allow injury or post-season offensive efforts to affect his performance in the field. For each statcast, he recorded 22 innings. This is the second of shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. The defensive running is not that optimistic (+3), but Winn failed his reputation as one of the game’s most certain hands-on wild players. In the most demanding position in the infield, he was accused of making three mistakes in more than 1,100 innings.
Thomas Saggese Complete the season at shortstop. Assuming there are no setbacks in his recovery process, Winn will be the unquestionable starter next spring. While these cards could offer trade quotes for some veterans during the offseason, it would be shocking if they seriously consider relocating Winn. He is one year away from arbitration and has controlled four seasons at the club.
