Wimbledon 2025 results: Alfie Hewett starts defense with victory

Britain’s Alfie Hewett won the championship in 54 minutes with racing Daniel Caverzaschi.
Hewett won ten titles in singles and 22 titles with fellow compatriot Gordon Reid, who had a comprehensive 6-1 6-2 victory in Game 3.
The 27-year-old finally won his first title at SW19 last year to complete a professional grand slam.
The second seed will face China’s Jizhenxu in the quarterfinals and will not reach doubles partner Reed until the finals.
Hugwet and Reed will win the third straight doubles title on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Dahnon Ward, the British wildcard, lost his first round against Spain’s third-place seed Martin de la Puente, 6-2 6-0.
