Ramsdale Park Golf Center team smashes 100-hole challenge to raise more charity – Golf News

Now, between 2021 and 2024, the total amount raised is over £125,000. The club is also expected to raise another £30,000 this year.

The Ramsdale Park Golf Center is celebrating the endurance, spirit and generosity after the club captain, Daryl Woolley and PGA professionals, Jack Stoppard completed 100 tough 100-hole golf balls in one day – raising an impressive £3,450 charity.

Funds raised will be added to the growing annual charity total at Ramsdale Park. Having raised an incredible £32,000 last year alone, the club’s fundraising campaign will support two meaningful causes: Emmanuel House, Nottingham’s homeless charity and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

After the event, Theresa Plimmer, general manager of the Ramsdale Park Golf Center, said: “It was really inspiring to see Daryl and Jack smiling from beginning to end – even through exhaustion. It was not only a test of endurance, it was a celebration of Ramsdale Park.

Generosity, unity and gravel. Daryl’s chosen charity is close to our hearts and I am proud of the members and staff who have come together to make such a thing possible. Ramsdale Park is indeed more than just a golf club, it is a community. ”

In the first nine holes of General Manager Theresa Plimmer and Club Handicap Secretary Mark Northern, the duo joined the match in early dark hours at 4:00 a.m., setting the tone for the fundraising event. From there, Daryl and Jack walked each hole, fighting fatigue, soreness and summer heat.

The initial plan was to conquer 99 holes, but when Ramsdale Park’s vibrant starter Brutal Brian promised an additional £100, they didn’t back down. Their legs were sore but unwavering commitment, they dug deep and completed 100Th Hole, met by cheers from members of Ramsdale Park, and they were supported.

This achievement is just the latest example of the club’s dynamic culture and inclusive spirit. Jack Stoppard is the cornerstone of Ramsdale Park’s “Golf Pathway” program, and he continues to coach the next generation of golfers through his partnership with juniors, ensuring the sport’s future is both accessible and exciting.

Emmanuel House is one of the main beneficiaries, providing basic support for those who are homeless, sleeping or at risk of homelessness in Nottingham.

From hot meals to housing support, their work is a lifeline for many, and Ramsdale Park is honored to help contribute to their mission. To learn more about or provide support from Emmanuel House, visit: www.emmanuelhouse.org.uk
