Martin Eye Rangers Reunite with “Sublime” Stars

The Glasgow Rangers have taken huge steps in the transfer market in recent days, bringing in two new signings.
Russell Martin has been working tirelessly recently to ensure Joe Rothwell secures his signature from Bournemouth and Peterborough United defender Emmanuel Fernandez.
Rothwell played with Southampton in the 2023/24 campaign in 2023/24, scoring four points in 20 matches as the club received a Premier League promotion.
Fernandez may not have built up like the luxury players struggling in the First League in 2024/25, but his potential is limitless. Martin may have unearthed a gem in the 23-year-old boy.
With the two joining Max Aarons and Lyall Cameron as newcomers this summer, Martin is slowly building a team that he hopes will win the Premier League title and make it to the Champions League group stage.
More signatures will be needed in the next few weeks to get the boss to achieve this, while some others have linked.
However, the current team lacks a winger, which must be acted quickly before the first competitive game against Panathinaikos in a few weeks.
Martin will not be able to visit Vaclav Cerny’s service, but, at the end of the season, returned to his mother club.
Vaclav Cerny’s Ranger Statistics
Philippe Clement tried to strengthen his offensive choices, with the Czech winger joining from Wolfsburg last summer.
While the first few weeks were tough for the 27-year-old, he stabilized in Ibrox’s life, ending up scoring 18 goals and winning nine assists in 52 games.
On top flights, Cerny took 2.9 photos per game for GERS, while averaging 2.5 key passes and successfully made it with 1.4 passes against the Scottish opposition.
It was in the Europa League that the winger really showed his class. Not only did he help the club reach the quarterfinals of the game, but Cerny scored eight goals in the process – six goals and two assists.
Despite its success in Glasgow, there is never a real problem with permanent moves. Wolfsburg hopes to take back the money they spent on him to make the sale.
What fee? £8 million. Although it was reported in January, it seems the ship has sailed because of the move to bring Cerny back to Ibrox.
No matter what happens this summer, bringing one or both wingers on either side should be a major priority for the manager.
For now, only Ross McCausland, Oscar Cortes and Rabbi Matondo are his wide choices. One man was behind Cerny, injured most of the season in Pecking Order, while Matondo was on loan in the second half of 2024/25.
Will Martin get together with his former player in the next few weeks?
Rangers search for new frontiers
Over the past few weeks, Ibrox has been linked to quite a few of their broad people. Kwame Poku is a famous link, but he eventually moved to QPR.
Elsewhere, Tyrhys Dolan and Moussa Djenepo are both related to the move to Glasgow a few weeks ago, but nothing has been achieved.
After running out of time before clashing with the Greek Giants, Martin now needs to find one or two players who can settle down.
According to Sky Sports, it looks as if David Brooks will join West Bromwich Albion, but the move is now closed.
This opens the door for the £50,000 winger to reunite with Martin in Glasgow. Of course, in the 2023/24 campaign, in the spell held in Southampton, the bagged goal is played under the leadership of the Rangers boss.
He currently has only one year left in the deal with cherries, which means light blue may be securing bargains.
If so, Brooks might be a good addition and hopefully mitigate the blow of losing Senley.
Why Rangers Must Sign David Brooks
Brooks had a big time when they moved to Bournemouth in 2018. His first season saw the Welsh score seven goals and five assists in the Premier League, which certainly proved his class.
Indeed, his boss Eddie Howe praised Brooks as “sublime” after his impressive performance against Brighton.

To be honest, he hasn’t reached these heights since then, although he bravely fought back after being diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s lymphoma in October 2021.
Despite only 9 times, he still averaged 0.9 strokes per game while creating three big opportunities with an average score of 0.7 per game.
If there are regular opportunities in the starting XI, there is no doubt Brooks will sign for this exciting contract.
Under the leadership of Saint Martin in 2023/24, Welsh Star grabbed five assists, created eight big opportunities and made over 50% of dribbling attempts.
These statistics are recorded in the second layer, but it shows how efficient Brooks has the opportunity.
Tally, recorded by Cerny last season, took some effort, but Brooks has proven his class in his career.
With the advantage of including the key pass, passing through the ball and holding the ball, this is the defender north of the boundary, which is for sure.
The only key point may be the cost. But as mentioned, he has a year left in the deal, which puts Ibrox in a solid negotiating position.
Considering that Martin has worked with 35 stock wingers before, this is a signature that makes sense to all parties. Hope it can be sewn soon.
