Man United narrow forward searches Ollie Watkins and Benjamin Sesko

United narrowed their focus in the summer transfer market as the club strives to bring in new strikers.

According to Laurie Whitwell, a journalist for Track and Field, Manchester United is currently exploring two main goals, namely Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa and Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig, as the club hopes to strengthen their offensive line before the new season.

United and Aston Villa have already negotiated between Ollie Watkins, although any agreement will be challenging. Villas are eager to move the stars forward and they are reluctant to negotiate unless they can get the right alternative.

Watkins enjoyed prolific spells under Unai Emery in Villa Park, and he was seen as an integral part of the Villa program. Although Villa values him around £60 million, Manchester United believes that if Villa successfully signs another striker, the situation may become more flexible.

Meanwhile, Manchester United continues to pursue Sesko, a move driven by technical director Christopher Vivell, who started to learn about the player from RB Leipzig.

The Bundesliga team is currently hoping to award at least €80 million to Slovenian International, but both Manchester United and suitor Newcastle United hope that the asking price could be close to €70 million as the windows progress.

Newcastle is currently leading the way in Sesko’s discussions and may pose a serious threat to Manchester United’s ambitions. Still, Ruben Amorim’s team is firmly in the game and sees the young forward as a long-term solution to the attack.

For now, Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson is not a priority for Manchester United, and the club considers the financial terms of any potential deal to be too high.

With the focus always on Watkins and Cesco, United fans can look forward to developments in the coming days as the club hopes to strengthen their frontlines.
