It was a fast-paced start with opportunities for both sides, but the Mammoths broke the deadlock midway through the opening period on JJ Peterka’s rebound goal. It was his fifth goal in the past six games.

Rangers finally got on the scoresheet with just over four minutes left in the first, with a well-placed shot from Adam Fox that Vladislav Gavrikov redirected into the net – a rare defender-on-defender deflection goal.

The Rangers then took a 2-1 lead on a breakaway goal from Artemi Panarin, whose wrist shot sailed through the legs of Karel Vejmelka midway through the second period.

The Mammoths responded three minutes later when Clayton Keller rebounded a shot from Keller Yamamoto to tie the score at 2-2. Keller Yamamoto got his first assist of the season.

The game entered the final quarter and the two sides were tied. However, the Mammoths regained the lead with Nick DeSimone’s second goal of the season, a slap shot that beat Jonathan Quick seven minutes into the final frame.

The goal helped the Mammoths end their losing streak with a score of 3-2. The Mammoths beat the Rangers 33-22, a much-needed win after losing seven of their past eight games.

The Mammoths will look to start their winning streak on Monday against the Vegas Golden Knights, while the Rangers will make a quick stop at home against the St. Louis Blues before hitting the road again.
