Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve of Minnesota political shooting: “It’s disgusting” – Basketball insider

Minnesota Lynx beat Los Angeles Sparks 101-78 on Saturday despite two Democratic state lawmakers shooting.
Napheesa Collier had 32 points, eight rebounds and six assists, but everything rang after the tragedy.
Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were killed in the Twin Cities area in Minnesota. Another representative, Jon Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were also shot but survived. The alleged gunman allegedly imitated a policeman. He also has about 70 politicians on his target list.
As of Saturday night, the pursuit of Vance Boelter, 57, is still underway.
Speaking before the game, Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve admitted it was difficult to play. She also confirmed that she had not considered canceling the game she played on Saturday afternoon.
The competition is planned for the first time to celebrate Hall of Fame member Seimone Augustus, who was selected last year.
“It seems meaningless, of course, you can be close to home,” Reeve said. “It’s been a tough day everywhere. Basketball is what we’re going to do. We’re going there to do what we do. But God knows that when our game is over, God knows what we’re going to play and understand what’s going on.
“It’s disgusting.”
