The Red Sox management and ownership have been saying they don’t want Meyer and Anthony to be under pressure as if they were expected to be the saviors of the season, but the trades do it – and now, Meyer and Anthony have a lot of pressure on Meyer and Anthony.
First, third and fifth today, now second. Like Mayer, let him hit third, fourth and fifth. It’s a bad rookie way.
Also, I disagree that there is no longer a need for a moving (not necessarily a deal) outfielder. Now that Devers has disappeared, Yoshida is already magically healthy and is expected to play against RHP for a week or two, accounting for 75% of the league.
