Wimbledon 2025: Flavio Cobolli competes with “big idol” Novak Djokovic

Those who have followed Cobolli’s rise over the past 12 months wouldn’t be surprised to see him appearing in the last eight of the Grand Slams.
He won his first ATP Tour title this year in Romania and then won in Hamburg.
Until facing Cilic, he hadn’t dropped the game on SW19 and had a full-scale victory in all four games.
However, the challenge against Djokovic is even more difficult. The 24th Grand Slam champion has been conducting some analysis of his own analysis.
The 36-year-old said his son has been asking players from all England clubs to sign the hat and even managed to hit it with Cobolli.
“They played a few days ago. They played some points,” Djokovic said.
“He’s on the moon. Obviously, he loves tennis. He has signatures from everyone except mine. But that’s OK, I’ll accept it.
“I’m going to talk to my son and see what he noticed in the Coboli game.”
On the court, Cobolli’s diverse shooting and sports attracted Wimbledon crowds.
But Djokovic said he was surprised to see Coboli’s results on the grass and his game doesn’t necessarily fit the surface.
“He is a very talented player,” he said.
“A young man is here. He is a big fighter. We get along well. We practice as much as we can.
“Let the better players win. What can I say?”
