Liverpool did not ask for a reduction in Alexander Isak’s game time when it was not separated from Sweden
According to owner Jon Dahl Tomasson, Alexander Isak has been “very happy” to maintain international duties with Sweden, adding that Liverpool has no instructions on the time of the striker’s game the previous week.
Isak was linked with his national team late Monday, setting a record £125 million in Britain after he completed his controversial move to Merseyside from Newcastle.
The 25-year-old is now enjoying the opportunity to work with his Swedish teammates after expressing his desire to leave St James’ Park.
“I saw him smiling and he was happy to be here and play for Sweden. He really liked it here,” Thomason said, facing the World Cup qualifiers on Friday against Slovenia and Kosovo on September 8.

When asked how much Isaac would be played in both games – and whether Liverpool asked for his meeting minutes to be limited – Thomason added: “We have not received any instructions yet. But we have a good connection with the club, I have talked to the coach, our doctor has talked to the doctor. We have normal communication with all clubs.
“During the preseason, you had a lot of training, a few games, and now that’s not the case [with Isak]. Therefore, he will never play 90 minutes. Will we do stupid things with Alex? No, we won’t do stupid things.
