Leeds meets publicly, signs £17million star

Leeds United have added Sebastiaan Bornauw, Jaka Bijol and Lukas Nmecha to their first team in the summer transfer window so far.
Whites have not addressed their options in the middle of the park, but they are reportedly closing potential contracts to do that.
As you can see in the post above, Fabrizio Romano claims that the champion is making a deal for Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff.
They have agreed to personal terms with the UK generator and have a £12 million bid in the coming days to bring him to Elland Road.
If the move goes as hoped, Longstaff will arrive in West Yorkshire to compete for a place in the midfield with the likes of Tanaka, Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev.
Why Sean Longstaff is a wise signing for Leeds
The 27-year-old star might be a very wise signing, especially for a relatively low fee of £12m, a seasoned and reliable roster choice with Daniel Farke choosing between the park.
Longstaff has played for Magpies in the Premier League so far, which shows that he knows the division and is able to be the ground for Leeds as an experienced operator at that level.
The £12 million star scored ten goals and provided nine assists in those 171 matches in the top game, suggesting he can sometimes make an impact in the last third.
However, it is also worth noting that Leeds will sign Longstaff in the backcourt of a tough season, who played Newcastle’s role in the 2024/25 campaign.
The Hipies graduate has only eight of his 25 appearances in the Premier League, and his basic statistics do not mean he will be a great signing for white people.

As you can see in the table above, Longstaff ranks low among several key statistics, although he does excel in making tackles and obstacles.
These statistics suggest that midfielder may be a solid and wise choice for Leeds, especially in midfield roles, where he can focus on making tackles and obstacles, but he is unlikely to be a signing for Farke who changes the game, who offers excellent quality in all areas of the field.
According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Leeds are also interested in a deal to sign Hoffenheim midfielder Anton Stach this summer.
New immigrants in the Premier League have been linked with the Bundesliga to discuss the potential transfer of the 4-foot-4 German giant.
Plettenberg added that at present, Leeds has not made a formal offer to Hoffenheim, so a deal is not as advanced as the one that brought Longstaff to Elland Road.
The German journalist noted that the 26-year-old midfielder has two years left to sign a contract with the Bundesliga as his deal expires in 2027 and is “probably” transferred to white people.
Before the summer window, Plettenberg reported that Hoffenheim would require its star midfielder to charge up to £17m, although whether that changes remain to be seen.
Why Leeds should sign Anton Stark
The white man should sign Stach and Longstaff deals this summer because he would be a better signing if he could adapt to the Premier League.
While Newcastle’s men are a sensible and low-risk addition, as experienced players of top English pilots, the Hoffenheim star is a riskier signing with a potential for greater rewards.
If Stach can offer a performance similar to what was performed in the Bundesliga last season, the German Colosse will provide Farke’s team with more teams than the next semester.
The above image shows that nearly every aspect of the midfielder game produces the quality of nearly every midfielder compared to Newcastle ACE in its 2024/25 campaign.

The statistics in the table above support this further, as Stach offers more goals, more assists, creates more “big opportunities” and averages with greater defensive interventions per game.
His success rate in duels also shows that Hoffenheim is a powerful midfielder who can compete physically in ground and air combat, even more important than Longstaff.
So Stach may be a better midfielder option for FARKE in the Premier League next season, as he has the potential to offer more teams to the inside and outside teams as a solid defender and creative midfielder.
However, the £17 million star has never played in England unproven in the Premier League, which is why it might make sense to sign him in the talented Longstaff of the experienced UK.

Leeds asked about a deal that signed a star, which was more important than Gabriel Gudmundsson.
Overall, Stach’s quality is better than Longstaff than the signing of Liz, but that doesn’t mean the Newcastle man has no vital role in the team as a tried-and-tested Premier League performer.
