Las Vegas bookie reveals Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy has been working hard for years to win a Masters green jacket and become the sixth male player in history to secure a golf Grand Slam.
Given the scar tissue he carries from the numerous failures in Augusta National, many think it will never happen.
For those who like to bet, there are problems ahead of the 2025 event.
McIlroy performed better than anyone in the world after two early wins at Pebble Beach and Sawgrass, but given his psychological luggage, can he take the form to the greatest stage?
In a casino in Las Vegas, will there be a stampede in the sports book that throws big money at McIlroy? Or will the bet look at other places?
Golf365 talks with Jeff Sherman, golf rival of Westgate Superbook in Las Vegas.
The Westgate Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip was previously named the Las Vegas Hilton, and Elvis had a long residence rights in the 1970s. So, did McIlroy's victory shock Sherman?
Golf365: Let's chase. Rory's masters have won good results for you or disaster? Are you cheering on Justin Rose in the playoffs?
Jeff Sherman: Rory's victory is good for the book. He ranked first in the number of tickets and second in the money, thus representing a large portion of support. However, because his odds are relatively short, the odds of Masters increase by one year, so he is a modest positive. We got Rose's support in 125/1 so if he wins, he's even a result of rest.
GOLF365: How is your game betting done in Augusta?
JS: It was excellent in terms of game betting, as we played keen matches with both Scheffler and Morikawa against Rory. Overall a good result.
Golf365: How about any special/proposition bets at this year’s Masters?
JS: The most famous proposition result is the winning score. We opened 276.5 (-11.5) and got much needed support near 275.5 (12.5). Rory missed the 18-year-old putt on the 72nd hole, shifting the winning score from 276 to 277.
Golf365: Do you have any future responsibilities for McIlroy? Did you win him the price of winning one, two, three or even all four majors this season?
JS: I just added the exact big win prop to include the 2025 Grand Slam at 100/1 odds. So far, only support for this prop is Rory winning a Grand Slam in -200 (1/2).
Golf365: How do you price the PGA champion? Apparently, Rory liked the course (Quail Hollow) because he won four times on the PGA Tour.
JS: We do have a responsibility to Rory of the PGA Championship, and we can understand his history at Quail How. In early March, he paid a $9,000 bet on 7/1, so now Rory and Scheffler represent two responsibilities that we have after PGA. Currently, Rory is a favorite of 9/2 on the PGA Championship Super Book, followed by Scheffler's 5/1, Aberg 14/1 and Schauffele 16/1. All odds can be viewed on our app or on my website Golfodds.com.
GOLF365: Do you offer odds on LIV events? How to turnover?
JS: We offer Liv and the tournament games, but these games are handled no more than 20% of the PGA Tour Championships, so we continue to see a lack of interest.
GOLF365: Are there any difficulties in the Ryder Cup?
JS: We set the price of the Ryder Cup as close to the event’s Ryder Cup (satisfied at Bethpage Black, New York from September 26 to 28), as the level of interest at early odds in previous years was extremely low until the last few weeks.
Golf365: If you can choose one player to win the remaining three majors, who is your choice?
PGA: Xander Schauffele
US Open: Collin Morikawa
Open: Tommy Fleetwood
GOLF365: What was the biggest bet you ever chose?
JS: I couldn't be sure of it for years, but when Tiger Woods ran on his hilltop, we often won his short odds on a $25,000 bet, and he often won his wins.
Golf365: How popular is golf on the avenue?
JS: Golf betting in Las Vegas is increasing every year, and continues to grow as young exciting golfers watch supply and influx.
Golf365: Considering that this is an exciting end, do you think McIlroy's victory will improve the turnover?
JS: Yes, I believe that given the excitement of the Master and the victory of Rory, interest in the rest of the profession will increase. There are many great golfers outside McIlroy and Scheffler, with high odds, so we are expecting a solid handle.
