Kolyachonok’s third-period heroics lift Stars to 3-2 win over Kraken – Hockey Writer – Dallas Stars

The Dallas Stars (15-5-4) defeated the Seattle Kraken (11-6-6) 3-2 on Wednesday night at Climate Pledge Arena.

Roup Hinz, Esa Lindell and Vladislav Kolyachonok scored for the Stars. Casey DeSmith made 26 saves.

Brandon Montour and Vince Dunn scored for the Kraken. Joey Daccord made 18 saves.

Hintz opened the scoring 5 minutes and 52 seconds into the game when Alexander Petrovic tipped in the penalty area and Daccord went through the pads.

Montour tied the score with his fifth goal of the season at 9:06. Montour’s shot was saved by DeSmith and deflected into the right corner. Montour caught the puck and beat DeSmith at a sharp angle along the goal line.

Lindell scored his third goal of the season at 6:13 of the second period when his own rebound bounced right into the crease to give the Stars a 2-1 lead.

The Kraken tied the game just 18 seconds into the final period thanks to Dunn’s wrist shot from the left circle that beat DeSmith on the ice.

Koliachonok scored his first goal as a Stars player with a wrist shot from above the left circle that hit the post at 14:16 of the game, giving the Stars a 3-2 lead and the eventual win.

The Kraken outshot the Stars 28-21 but were 0 for 5 on the power play. The Stars won 0-1 with a man advantage.

Next

The Stars host the Utah Mammoths on Friday night. The Kraken host the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday afternoon.
