Jerome scored 21 points in Game 1 with Darius Garland injured and then shot 1-1 in Game 2, the defender lost Tyrese Haliburton in the Pacers’ game title. Jerome started off again in Game 3, hitting 1-8, and coach Kenny Atkinson had seen enough of it. Jerome played for only 13 minutes, the lowest number of his playoffs as Sam Merrill uploaded the ball in the depth table. By Game 5, Jerome will have to wait until the second half before getting off the bench. The Cavaliers are already facing financial pressure on their second apron next season and now it may be concluded that Jerome is not worth keeping on the floor even in their most important game.
