Walter Raff: Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Shane Gostisbehear missed last night’s game with a lower-body injury but is still with the team on the road trip. Coach Rod Brind’Amour said the injury was “not serious.”
Evan Laval: Colorado Avalanche goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood practiced yesterday but did not travel with the team to Utah. He was close, though.
Brian Ray: Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn is still weeks away from returning but could start to get back into shape soon.

Amanda Stein: New Jersey Devils forward Stefan Northam will not be in the lineup tonight. Coach Sheldon Keefe: “Gonna look at the second half of the back-to-back.”

NHL Rumors: Montreal Canadiens vs. Edmonton Oilers
Seattle Kraken PR: Forward Jared McCann missed last night’s game with a lower-body injury and is returning to daily practice.
Jeremy Rutherford: St. Louis Blues coach Jim Montgomery said of forward Oscar Sundqvist’s imminent return: “He’s close. Probably just one step away. If not (Tuesday), Thursday.” Sundqvist said he wanted to get a few more practices in before returning to the lineup.
vancouver canucks: Forwards Filip Chytil and Jonathan Lekkerimaki have been placed on IR retroactive to Oct. 19. Forward Nils Hoglander has been placed on LTIR retroactive to October 7.
Jesse Granger: Vegas Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy said forward Mark Stone is resting week-to-week and will not play with the team this week.
SimbinVegas: The Golden Knights are unsure if guard Noah Hanifin will travel with the team on the road trip. They don’t play on the road until Saturday, so there’s still some time to make a decision.
Sammy Silber: Washington Capitals forward Pierre-Luc Dubois practices in a non-contact jersey. There is no change in his status. His IR was retroactive to Oct. 12.
NHL Rumors: Brennan Osman, Owen Tippett and San Jose
Mike McIntyre: Winnipeg Jets coach Scott Arniel said forward Cole Perfetti, who has been on the ice the past two days, is a little ahead of schedule and they are considering a mid-November return. Forward Adam Lowry is expected to return in late October, early November. Guard Dylan Samberg’s return remains to be determined.
