The Kings have achieved a commendable record of 2 wins, 0 draws and 1 loss in the past three games, exceeding the norm in all three games. They also played in the second half of back-to-back games.

game review

The Blackhawks scored first early in the first period. It was Connor Bedard’s third goal of the season and Ilya Mikheyev’s second assist of the season.

The goal wasn’t pretty, but it got the job done. Neither team was able to capitalize on power play opportunities in the first game (two for the Hawks, one for the Kings). At the end of the game, the Eagles led 11-6.

The Kings rallied in the second, scoring two goals in a span of 1 minute and 25 seconds, one by Alex Laferriere and the other by Kevin Fiala. This was Laferriere’s goal to start the game for the Kings.

Early in the third quarter, Blackhawks forward Mikheyev was injured when his shoulder fell on the backboard. They played with seven defensemen that night and were reduced to 10 forwards to defend the Kings’ 2-1 lead.

The Blackhawks couldn’t overcome, and Kings’ Joel Armia scored on an empty-net goal to seal the win.

It was a fast, furious and fun third quarter, but the Kings came out victorious. They stifled the Blackhawks’ attempt to tie the game.
