Keenan Allen will be active for the charger in 2025 after one year of absence

The Chargers chose WR Keenan Allen for the third round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Allen has played 139 games for Los Angeles and scored 134 games in 11 seasons. The 33-year-old led the charger in the reception (904) and the reception code (10,530) ever. In his 2023 season, Allen set a single-season catch record with 108.

Despite Allen missing the final four games of the season due to a heel injury. The two sides were unable to reach a long-term contract after Allen’s 2023 campaign with Chargers. Allen was then traded to the Bears, where he played for the 2024 season. He played 15 of 17 games and had 70 catches for a total of 774 yards and seven touchdowns.

Keenan Allen is a free agent after a one-year contract with Chicago in 2024. After Mike Williams suddenly retired in the offseason, it was a reasonable conclusion for the charger to reunite with Allen. In 2024, Charger rookie WR Ladd McConkey has a breakthrough season. He finished with 82 catches with 1,149 receive yards and seven touchdowns.

Ladd McConkey will once again be Justin Herbert’s top target in 2025, but they are adding familiar faces. This will be Herbert’s reward. The young QB has not made 30 passes in a season since 2021. Additionally, Herbert threw over 4,000 yards last time in 2022. Can Keenan Allen help Justin Herbert reach the numbers that were generated early in his career?
