Keegan Bradley announces draft picks for six captains – Golf News

US Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley today announced Sam Burns, Patrick Cantlay, Ben Griffin, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas and Cameron Young, his six-captain draft pick for the 2025 US Ryder Cup. The 45th Ryder Cup will be held from September 23 to 28 at Bethpage Black, Farmingdale, New York.
Scottie Scheffler, JJ Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley, Harris English and Bryson DeChambeau qualified through Points, which ended on August 17.
“I’m very proud of choosing these six players for the 2025 US Ryder Cup team,” Bradley said. “All six are extremely talented and deserve a place on our team. Together with six qualifiers, our team is a blend of Ryder Cup veterans and rookies, each bringing unique strengths and experiences that will be a huge benefit for us to reclaim the cup on Bethpage Black next month.”
Burns returns to the Ryder Cup team after his debut in 2023 and will make his stunning ability Bethpage Black. The 29-year-old has won six top tens on the PGA Tour this season, including the BMW Champion (T-4) and the Tour Champion (T-7). Burns ranked first in the stroke of the season: putting (0.924) and putting it into 10 feet (90.79%).
Cantlay, 33, participated in his third Ryder Cup, bringing the team a lot of game experience. He has a 5-2-1 professional Ryder Cup record, with a perfect 2-0-0 singles score, and performed 3-0-1 in the 2021 Whistle Channel. Cantlay collected 10 top 15s on the PGA Tour this season, including a T-2 on the Tour Championship.
Griffin’s breakthrough season won him his first berth for the US Ryder Cup team. The 29-year-old won his first two PGA Tour victories in the Zurich Classic and Charles Schwab Challenge in New Orleans. He has finished the 10 top 10 results of the season (after Scottie Scheffler after Scottie Scheffler), including the Memorial Championship (runner-up), PGA Championship (T-8), U.S. Open (T-10), Fedex St. Jude Championship (T-9) and Tour Championship (T-10).
Morikawa, 28, will represent the United States for the third time in the Ryder Cup. The two-time main championship was 4-3-1 all-time, including 2-1-0 for four-pointers and four-balls, ranking 3-0-1 in the 2021 Red Cup debut in the Ryder Cup debut.
Thomas participated in his fourth Ryder Cup, mostly members of 12 teams. The 32-year-old has a record of 7-4-2, including a 3-0-0 singles match. The two-time PGA champion won his 16th PGA Tour victory in April when he won his first playoff hole in the RCMP legacy. He also finished eight top ten, including three runner-ups, with 63, 62 and 61 records in the season.
Young, 28, is one of four Ryder Cup rookies for the U.S. team. The 28-year-old finished the 2025 season in a high profile, scoring six shots at the Wyndham Championship earlier this month, earning his first PGA Tour victory and finishing the top 12 in each of his last four games. Born in Scarborough, New York, Young made history at Bethpage Black in 2017, when he became the first amateur to occupy Met Pga Ny State Open as a teenager.
