Pittsburgh Penguin Hires New Coach
Pittsburgh Penguin: The 23rd head coach named Dan Muse. GM Kyle Dubas:
“During this process, we met with many candidates who we felt would have been a fit as the next head coach of the Penguins, but ultimately, Dan Muse stood out as the best choice. What separate Dan was his ability to develop players, win at all levels where he has been a head coach and his consistent success coaching special teams in the NHL. From his success in developing college and junior players, to his impactful work with veteran players during his time in the NHL, Dan has shown a ability to connect with players and help them reach their potential at all stages of their career.”

Brock Nelson signed with Colorado Avalanche
Puck Pedia: Colorado Avalanche re-signed 33-year-old forward Brock Nelson for three years, with a salary cap of $7.5 million.
2025-26: $9 million salary and $500,000 signing bonus
2026-27: Salary of $7.3 million
2027-28: $5.7 million in salary
Nelson will have a full trade-free clause in the first two years and 15 teams will have a trade-free clause in the last year of the deal.
Evan Rawal: “The price is always a bit uncomfortable, but there is no other option for AVS than “Praying Bennett to send free agents and sign with you.” FA-level and limited trade assets.
$7.5 million is a reasonable price for Brock Nelson in 2024-25, but it starts to look a little steep at 2025-26 Brock Nelson and beyond. It takes a better age than expected than this deal. pic.twitter.com/gh6vhfu87k
