Blue Jays signed first round Jojo Parker

The Blue Jays have reached a consensus with the eighth pick Jojo Parker Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reported a $6.2mm bonus. The slot machine value below $6.81mm is a few hundred thousand dollars.

Parker is a 6’2″ infielder who was selected from Mississippi High School. Parker is the left-handed batsman for MLB Pipeline, American Baseball, ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel and Sports’ Keith Law. Evaluators uniformly call him one of the best batsmen in the class. Parker, who is the highest in the above prospect rankings, shows that he may be an extra, his championship average ability.

When he was shortstop in high school, Parker was expected to leave his position when he arrived at major. Scout reports show he can fit into third base, although he has the potential to move to the corner outfield. This puts more pressure on Parker’s bat, but he’s likely to hit enough profile anywhere on the diamond.

Parker has been committed to Mississippi. He will bypass the promise, but his twin brother Jacob will join the Bulldogs. Jacob Parker is seen as a solid prospect in his own right, although he is considered a fourth round talent. He didn’t find the signing bonus he liked. The Rattlers eventually picked him in the 19th round, but the team chose only the prospect of senior high school in case of a deal with their early draft picks, which was later (bring them unexpected bonuses).
