Avans, 29, was added to the roster just a week ago next week. His first taste of the major leagues didn’t go well. He played in seven games and played 15 games. He recorded two singles and struck out five times without walking.
This is obviously a small sample with not much to do, but A probably never thought of the important role of Avans. He has never been a touting prospect, but has become a professional before his 29th birthday. Now, he will be in DFA Limbo for up to one week. Since the exemption process takes 48 hours, it may take A five days to explore the trade interests.
He is usually a steady triple performer with a .275/.374/.408 line, and the 103 WRC+ dates back to the beginning of the 2021 season. He usually steals 20 to 40 bases a year and can play all three outfield positions.
As for the langeliers, it is not clear how long he expects him to go out, but his IL placement is not surprising. He left yesterday’s game with “left left injury” and was sent to MRI. Langeliers were previously spending most of their playing time with Willie Macver As a backup. Pereda could replace Langeliers, but it is unclear how the club plans to allocate game time now. It’s not clear if they have any moving designs Tyler Sodstrom Back to the back of the plate and cover with Langeliers. Soderstrom used to be an attractive prospect, but mainly played the first base in the Grand Slam.
