Everton is interested in signing Leicester City’s defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidy during the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old is expected to leave the Foxes after being relegated to the championship. Everton has been holding him up for a while and is expected to take action in the coming weeks.
Former Premier League scout Mick Brown revealed to football insiders that the Merseyside Giants will make an offer soon.
Everton’s expectations
“They have been passionate about him for a while and he is a very solid player.
“Everton, who has watched his performances in the Scouts, has always been one of the best players in Leicester.
“It may be difficult to overcome this line because there are a lot of clubs that have realized the terms of release he has.
“But I hope they try to bring him to these clubs.
“Either way, it seems he’s going to leave Leicester.”
Everton will need to make more quality and depth in the middle of the park, and Nigeria International will be an excellent acquisition. He has extensive experience in Premier League football and he can make an immediate impact on Everton.
They need defensive improvements, and quality defensive midfielders will help protect the back four and allow creative players to operate more freely.
Wilfred Ndidi needs action
The 28-year-old will want to compete at the highest level and at this stage of his career, returning to the Premier League will be ideal. He was so good for the championship and the chance to join Everton was very exciting for him.
He also has ties to other Premier League clubs. It would be fun to see where he ended up going. After Leicester was downgraded, he would likely be able to provide it with reasonable funds. The midfielder may prove to be Everton’s main bargain.
They have been struggling in recent seasons and they need players of his quality and experience to rebound strongly.
