John Wall has been in his career for more than two years since his last NBA game. In a video posted on social media, Wall officially announced his retirement Tuesday after 11 seasons.

Wall turned 35 in September and thanked his fans, family and teammates for their support in the emotional video, saying he didn’t regret it and said, “I gave this game.”
In 647 professional NBA regular season (604 games), Wall averaged 18.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 8.9 assists, 1.6 steals and 34.9 minutes of games while shooting 43% from the floor and shooting 32.2% from 3-pointers.
Wall was ranked first overall by the Washington Wizards at the 2010 draft at the University of Kentucky. North Carolina spent the first nine seasons in Washington, D.C.

The 6-foot-3 point guard was an All-Star team for five consecutive years from 2013-14 to 2017-18 and finished seventh in the 2016-17 MVP vote.
Wall and Bradley Beal’s duo ranked third in the 2012 draft, making the Wizards a consistent playoff contender. They played four playoffs in five seasons from 2014 to 2018.
The wizard congratulated him on his career and wished him a retirement.
Wizard trades John Wall to Rockets in 2020
In December 2020, the Wizards traded Wall and the 2023 first-round draft pick to the Houston Rockets for Russell Westbrook to exchange. However, Wall missed the entire 2019-20 season due to a ruptured left Achilles tendon injury.
Wall played only 40 games (all started), and the Rockets averaged 20.6 points per game, 3.2 rebounds, 6.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 32.2 minutes in the 2020-21 season.

At that time, Wall was asked why the Rockets didn’t want him to trade for him.
“I can’t believe it,” he said. “It’s funny because I think when they traded for me, I think they think James Harden would stay and then when I get there, he wants to leave.”
The Rockets traded the tough guy to the Brooklyn Nets in January 2021.
Wall made a common decision to leave Houston before his 2021-22 season with the team.
Wall plays for the Clippers in 2022-23
Wall signed a two-year contract with the Los Angeles Clippers next month after agreeing to the acquisition with the Rockets in June 2022.
He played 34 games (three games) for head coach Tyronn Lue in 2022-23, with an average of 11.4 points and 5.2 rebounds while the court shot 40.8%.
The Clippers handed the wall to the Memphis Grizzlies in February 2023. He was abandoned and then played a game with the club.
Wall appeared on Draymond Green earlier this year, and Wall said he was still working out regularly and thought he could play for another year or two.
“I think I’m still working out every day, doing the radio and getting into the field,” Wall said. “I went to the exhibition in the G League. I still want to be involved in basketball like radio and try to be general manager for a day.”
