Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski teamed up to beat Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool 6-7(3), 6-3, 10-8 on Saturday to move within one win of a third Nitto ATP Finals trophy.

Cash and Glasspool claimed the year-end ATP doubles No. 1 title awarded by the PIF earlier this week after a stellar season in which they won seven titles. However, they failed to cap off their year in the championship game in Turin, with Salisbury and Skupski reaching the semi-finals in dramatic fashion in one hour and 31 minutes.

Salisbury has now won his last 14 matches at the Nitto ATP Finals, with victories in Turin in 2022 and 2023 alongside Rajeev Ram. The 33-year-old did not qualify last year. Skupski reaches the final of the end-of-season event for the first time, as he and Salisbury will face Harry Heliovara and Henry Patten in Sunday’s final at 3pm local time (CET).

In this fierce confrontation, the score difference between the two teams was not big in the first set, with only one break point, and the victory was finally decided by a tie-break. Cash and Glasspool played more proactively in the break and fired a few bullets to take the lead.

However, Salisbury and Skupski got breaks early in the second set, turning the momentum around and serving rock solidly, winning 94% of their points in the first set. The fifth seed then won a tense tie-break to advance to the final.

Salisbury and Skupski are 46-21 on the season and will compete this week for their first championship in 2025. The British team reached the finals at both the French Open and the US Open.
