Job Overview:
The Phillies are seeking candidates to support the Major League Baseball Strategy Team in the Department of Baseball Development. These positions will assist with day-to-day preparation and production of materials to support MLB and AAA coaches and players. These roles will integrate critical thinking, organizational research and resources to produce the highest quality information while promoting consistency and continuity across all levels.
There are two opportunities – one primarily in Philadelphia and one in Allentown. Candidates may express a preference for either role or may be considered for both roles. Candidates must be able to work full-time and relocate during the 2026 regular season and playoffs.
Responsibilities:
The breakdown of responsibilities may vary based on the candidate’s background and strengths. We want to develop the guys we select based on their goals and how they can best help the Phillies. Previous responsibilities for this role and areas where this role may have impact include:
- Prepare and produce advance reports and other materials covering all aspects of opponent players and game strategy
- Promote consistency and continuity between MLB and AAA premium materials
- Research and analysis guide player development
- Participate in group discussions to innovate and optimize internal processes
- Special projects to support field staff and baseball development
- Assist with player training and preparation
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Deep fundamental knowledge in modern baseball analysis and evaluation
- Have professional and/or college baseball experience
- Strong verbal, written and visual communication and presentation skills
- Ability to handle and protect highly confidential information
- Ability to interact professionally with players, coaches, front office and support staff
- Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Preferred qualifications:
- Fluent or conversational Spanish
- Experience with one or more of the following languages (including but not limited to: Python, SQL, JavaScript, R)
- Experience building models and/or making rigorous predictions of field results
- Experience interacting with statistical forecasts and providing additional information to existing processes
- Have experience working in sports technology, video and/or data collection
- Playing background and ability to support on-field work (throwing practice, hitting, infield routine, etc.)
