NHL News: Some immediate changes from Sonny Milano, Dennis Hildeby and Daniil Prokhorov

Hockey Pedia: Some parts of the new CBA will be effective immediately on March 1, and some of them will be effective on September 16, 2026.

Implement immediately, effective in the 2025-26 season

  • New playoff salary cap
  • Limit/change LTIR, reducing the benefits the team gets in LTIR

Sonny Milano seems to start training camp well

Tom Gulitti: Washington Capitals forward Sonny Milano suffered an upper body injury last November 6 and missed the rest of the season. He has been skating for some time, and GM Chris Patrick said he is planning to be a formal player in the training camp.

Toronto Maple Leafs Expand Dennis Hilderby

Lance Hornby: Toronto Maple Leafs signed goalkeeper Dennis Hildeby to sign a three-year contract with a salary cap of $841,667. It was a two-way deal for the next two seasons, followed by a one-way trip for 2027-28.

Andrew Gross: New York Islanders sign 2025 second-round draft pick Daniil Prokhorov signs a three-year entry-level contract.

Hockey Pedia: Prokhorov will make a $915,000 block, and the AAV will be $975,000.

2025-26: $775,000 salary, $97,500 signing bonus, $102,500 GP bonus, and minors $85,000
2026-27: $800,000 salary, $97,500 signing bonus, $77,500 GP bonus and $85,000 for minors
2027-28: $877,500 Salary, $97,500 Signed Bonus, Minors $85,000
