Jannik Sinner defeats Alexander Bublik to reach Vienna Open semi-finals

Jannik Sinner defeated Alexander Bublik in straight sets to reach the semi-finals of the Vienna Open.

A break of serve in two sets was enough to keep Italy’s world number two Sinner in pursuit of a fourth title of the year.

Sinner, a four-time Grand Slam champion, only lost 5 points on serve throughout the match. He will compete with Australian player De Minaur for a spot in the final.

The 24-year-old, who has won 60 of his last 66 matches, was replaced by Carlos Alcaraz after being beaten in the US Open final.

World number 16 Bublik beat Sinner in Halle in June, but the Kazakh failed to match the Australian Open and Wimbledon champion on Friday.

Sinner never conceded more than a point in any of her service games while maintaining pressure on Bublik and converting two of eight break points.

Sinner has won 19 straight games on indoor hard courts and seven straight in Vienna, which he won in his last appearance in 2023.
