Three months into the 2026 season, only 50 points separated Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner heading into the PIF ATP Live event in Turin.
Alcaraz began the year with wins at the Australian Open and ATP 500 in Doha and went on a 16-match winning streak that ended in the semifinals at Indian Wells. Sinner gained momentum thereafter, winning at Indian Wells and Miami to complete the “Sunshine Double” and become a near equal to his great rival in live competition.
Although it is still early in the season, Alcaraz and Sinner once again took control of the ATP year-end No. 1 battle organized by PIF, and the live game is a good barometer. No other player is within 1,000 points of the pair, with third-placed Daniil Medvedev currently 1,200 points behind Sinner.
Alcaraz and Sinner lead the way to Turin for the PIF ATP Live Event, while Arthur Fils and Jiri Lehecka earned career milestones in Miami as they continue their quest to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals for the first time.

The 21-year-old Fiers reached his most important ATP Tour semifinal in South Florida, helping him rise to eighth place in live competition. The Frenchman also reached the Doha final and Indian Wells quarter-finals.
Lehka climbed 54 spots to No. 10 after making her debut in the ATP Masters 1000 final. The Czech came into Miami with a 6-5 season record, according to the Infosys ATP Win-Loss Index, but found his best form on hard courts, which he remained unbroken until the championship match against Sinner. Lehecka has reached the quarterfinals at ATP 500 events in Doha and Dubai.
Germany’s Alexander Zverev moved past 101-time tour-level champion Novak Djokovic into fourth place in the doubles semifinals at Indian Wells and Miami. Alex De Minaur and Ben Shelton, both former Turin rivals, are also currently in the top eight.
The Nitto ATP Finals will be held from November 15th to 22nd at the Inalpi Arena in Turin. Sinner, the home favorite, won the season finale two years in a row. Last season, he defeated Alcaraz in the final, improving his record to 6-10 against the Spaniard at the Lexus ATP.
