Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz to play South Korea exhibition match ahead of Australian Open

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will play an exhibition match in South Korea in January, just eight days before the start of the Australian Open.

The two will meet in the Hyundai Card Super Series in Incheon on January 10, and the Australian Open main draw will be held in Melbourne on January 18.

Tournament organizers said: “For domestic tennis fans, this will be the first opportunity to see the competition between two top players.”

The pair have met in three of the four Grand Slam finals in 2025 and have won nine of the past 10 Grand Slam tournaments.

Sinner regained the world No. 1 spot from Alcaraz on Sunday after winning the Paris Masters.

Ahead of the season-ending ATP finals on November 9, Sinner defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-4 7-6 (7-4) to move the Italian 250 points higher than Alcaraz.

Alcaraz leads the pair’s head-to-head battles with 10 wins to Sinner’s five.

The Spaniard claimed the title in an epic French Open final in June, before Sinner got his revenge at Wimbledon in July.

But Alcaraz won the pair’s most recent match and won his sixth major at the U.S. Open in September.
