The Clippers are following Bradley Beal

Prior to the 2023-24 season, the Suns traded with the Wizards to acquire experienced SG Bradley Beal. In return, Washington acquired Chris Paul, Landry Shatter, five second-round picks and four first-round picks.
Bradley Beal played for Phoenix for two seasons, playing 53 games a year. NBA insiders in the league expect the Bills to happen in the offseason. Marc Stein reports that Beal is about to acquire a contract with the Suns. They will reach a exemption and stretch agreement to make Bill a free agent. Sources pointed out that the Clippers may be the Bills’ target before the 2025-26 season.

For quite some time, the Sun has been looking for trading partners to ship Bradley Beal. However, the All-Star SG’s trade market has stagnated. As we all know, Bill is one of the worst contracts in the NBA. His output doesn’t match his salary. The Wizards signed a five-year, $251 million contract. When the Suns traded Bill, they took on the massive contract and went through the review.
Bradley Beal’s 17.0 points per game against Phoenix in 2024-25 was the lowest since his rookie season. The veteran SG has never found his pace in Phoenix, and both sides are ready to split the way. Bill Ben is actively looking for trading partners during the offseason. NBA insider Jake Fischer reported that the Clippers are serious contenders for the 13-year veteran.

The Los Angeles Clippers completed three teams deals and split up with SG/SF Norman Powell. They need to start SG, and if Beal lands in free agency, Beal will be a serious contender. To get the Suns to reach a two-year rule, still owed $110 million Bills, SG had to pay $13.9 million. That is to comply with the league rules, prohibiting a team from exceeding 15% of their salary.
Kris Dunn is listed as the Clippers’ starting SG on the current depth chart. If the team signs Bradley Beal as a free agent, the All-Star SG can take that position from Dunn. Los Angeles will be the fresh start that Beal is much needed. His time at Phoenix was going well in the playoffs and he worked hard to reach his potential. The Bucks, Lakers and Warriors are reportedly interested in Bills. Insiders believe that the Clippers are his strongest competitor.
