Jacob Fearnley: The British opened from Cincinnati

Britain’s Jacob Fearnley was defeated by Zizou Bergs in the Cincinnati Open.
Fearnley made his debut in the game and was beaten 6-1 6-4 by the Belgian.
The 24-year-old ranked 55 in the world – Bergs only has three positions – but struggled in his first meeting with the 26-year-old.
Fearnley faced nine breakout points on the serve, losing four and could only convert one of the two he won.
His failure comes after the Canadian Open’s recent first-round exit.
In the women’s draw, Britain’s Katie Boulter faces Olga Danilovic in the first round, with the champion playing Britain’s No. 1 Emma Raducanu.
