Jack Pinnington Jones defeats Flavio Cobolli at Dallas Open, Elena Rybakina advances in Qatar

Pinnington Jones won his first Grand Slam match last year, defeating Thomas Martin Echeverry at Wimbledon.

Pinnington Jones, a close friend of UK No. 1 Jack Draper, completed his junior season at Texas Christian University in May but chose not to return for a final year in order to pursue a full-time tennis career.

Italian Cociareto saved four of five break points en route to a 6-4, 6-2 victory over French Open champion Gauff.

Elena Rybakina won her first match since her Australian Open title with a 6-2 6-4 victory over China’s Wang Xinyu, while world No. 2 Iga Swiatek eased past Janice Tjen 6-0 6-3.

Britain’s Emma Raducanu withdrew from her first-round match against Camila Osorio earlier this week.
