Jack Draper impressively beats Tommy Paul to the Madrid Open

An authoritative Jack Draper booked his spot in the quarterfinals of the Madrid Open, beating Tommy Paul 6-2 6-2 for a 6-2 victory.

Britain ranked first, breaking the Americans in Games 3 and 7, and hopes to play in the first set in 32 minutes.

Paul's serve was under greater pressure and despite saving two breakout points in Game 3 of the second set, Draper broke his love in Game 5 and rose 3-2.

The amazing forehand scored 5-2 on this line to score Draper and doubles, and he comfortably won the next game to win the game in one hour and seven minutes.

“I’m really nice there,” Draper told Sky Sports. “I know Tommy is a great player and I have to stand on him from him. I feel good.

“I think for players from England or players who don’t often play on this kind of surface, they won’t get involved with a mindset and they won’t be that great, so that can prevent them from further development.

“I know I can do well on this surface and it's a big goal for me to prove that I can do well this year. I know if I want to be the top player I have to do.”

Draper's powerful forehand didn't face a breakout point in the game, and he was in good working orders of 13 of the entire 20 winners.

Paul had only seven winners in the game, and he made 31 uncompulsory mistakes, while his opponent had 11.

Draper, who is the fifth seed of the Madrid Open and the highest ranked player, is the highest ranked player in the world rankings.

After defeating Novak Djokovic, the Italian who beat Novak Djokovic 6-3 7-5, he will play Matteo Arnaldi in the final eight games, and Draper can be fifth in the men's rankings if he wins.
