ATP Finals 2025: Taylor Fritz defeats Lorenzo Musetti, Jannik Sinner vs. Felix Auger-Aliassime

Taylor Fritz started his journey to the ATP Finals in style as he shone on serve to beat Lorenzo Musetti for the first time in three years.
American world No. 6 Fritz beat the Italian 6-3 6-4 in front of a raucous Turin crowd.
Fritz, last year’s runner-up to Jannik Sinner, dropped just three points on serve in the second set, two of which came in the final game.
Ninth-seeded Musetti only confirmed his place in the season-ending event on Sunday, when Novak Djokovic withdrew after beating him in the Athens Open final.
He had four early break opportunities against Fritz but was unable to capitalize on them before fatigue, with seven of his nine service games held evenly.
“I was a little shaky at the beginning, I let him dictate a little too much,” Fritz, 28, told Sky Sports.
“It was a little nerve-wracking for me, which is to be expected. I felt like I was able to relax and I started playing better.”
