Italian Open: Danielle Collins beats Iga Swiatek in round 3

Danielle Collins of the United States beat defending champion Iga Swiatek in the third round of the Italian Open.
Collins took advantage of his bad performance, from second place in the world to the opening scene and then struggling from the second game to win the championship with a 6-1 7-5 victory.
It was just her second win in nine matches with the five-time Grand Slam champion, winning the first game on Clay, the 23-year-old pole’s top-choice surface.
Collins, 31, will face Ukraine's Elina Svitolina or fellow compatriot Hailey Baptiste in the fourth round, and Swiatek now has to regroup before the French Open which begins on May 25.
Swiatek has won the Italian Open in three of the three of the last four seasons, but struggled to be at his best in this year's match in Rome.
She has not won the WTA Championship since winning her fourth French Open Women's Singles Championship 12 months ago at Roland Garros.
Swiatek had a poor start, double downside when facing a breakout point in her first two services, while the 29th seed Collins lost third place when he led 5-0.
Swiatek finally joined the board in Game 6, but was quickly broken for the fourth time, losing the opening ceremony in just 24 minutes.
She broke Collins in her first game in the second set, but again couldn't consolidate the rest.
Collins struggled hard for the rest of the second game, pounced in the game before sprinting in Game 12, earning his sixth serve in the game to win the second game as Swiatek flashed backhand.
