“It will be strong”

England boss Sarina Wiegman said her team is ready to beat the Netherlands in the European Cup 2025.

The Lioness is deviating from the game and may become the first defending champion to withdraw from the group stage.

If Wiegman’s side loses to the Dutch and France beats Wales, the holders have no way to move forward.

But despite losing 2-1 to France in the opener, England’s head coach believes his players have reorganized and are ready to go again.

“It’s going to be a fierce game,” she said in a pre-match press conference.

“We knew it would be a tough group. We were focusing on our game plan and performing the work, completing tasks, and having conversations with players and talking together, which is what we were going to do in the game.

“What we occupy is playing football, performing tasks and sticking together, building the right connection, working hard, and doing everything we can to win the game.

“We had some conversations with the team and watched some edits. We really did a good job of finishing the game, but there wasn’t enough performance between the two.

“We want to execute better, reduce hastyness and make better decisions. We will go tomorrow.”

The game will put partners Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedama directly opposite, but the two insist that there will be no friendship on the court.

Dutch star Miedema said: “The golden rule of tomorrow is that we can talk about anything, not football.

We won’t be friends tomorrow. If this isn’t a good moment for Beth, it’s not a problem for me. I’ll be very happy tomorrow [if Netherlands go through].

“We’ve played a lot with each other over the years. At the club and national level. Probably the best team to win. No, I’m not going to back down.

“I don’t think she will talk to me [if England lose]. It’s tough, I know I have Beth, but so is my best friend. It’s football, it’s part of the game. I’ve been on the other end of the other races all the time. If we go through it, I will be happy for us. ”
