Oriole claims Kyle Tyler – MLB Trade Rumor

Oriole announces right-handed Kyle Tyler Has been claimed to be exempted from Philadelphia’s immunity. Tyler was assigned to the Orioles’ triple A branch, and no further move was needed as Baltimore already had an open spot on the 40-man lineup.

The Phillies landed Taylor through a waiver wire last August when the right was obtained from the Marlins, who will now end their tenure with Philes without having to be on the major league roster. Tyler acted as spin depth on Triple-A Lehigh Valley, with an ERA of 4.31 this season, strikeout rate of 15.6% and walking rate of 7.6% in 12 starts and 62 2/3 innings.

Tyler won a 20-round draft pick for the Angels in 2018, with 4.31 ERAs in 48 innings in the Grand Slam and had 31 2/3 against the Marlins last season. Tyler has both the starter and the swinger experience, and he can help in either of these two departments, as Baltimore is still causing a lot of harm to major starters and rescuers.

With a collective 2.97 ERA over the past two weeks, Oriole’s pitchers began to stabilize themselves after some extreme early struggles, although it’s natural that any team wants a weapon of some depth. Tyler also has a minor league option that gives him and the Orioles some extra flexibility to move him back and forth between Baltimore and Triple-A Norfolk.
