Is the Ryder Cup out of control? Who should be the captain next?

The week after the Ryder Cup is sometimes as juicy as what happened during the Ryder Cup week. Golf’s writers and editors break the consequences of Bethpage Black, reactions to unruly fans, captain of Next Shews and more.
In the days after the European Ryder Cup victory at Bethpage Black, most of the conversation focused on fans, heck dogs and reactions to it, players, golf legends, organizers, and more. Is the Ryder Cup experience out of control? Or some of these exaggerations?
Senior Editor Jessica Marksbury (@Jess_MarkSbury): The loud and partisan crowd made the Ryder Cup fun, but it sounded like a year passed. The kind of sulfuric acid reported is against the spirit of the incident and the spirit of the sport itself – it is a shame because the noisy atmosphere can and should still be respected. That’s what makes tournaments like WM Phoenix so beloved. But there is obviously a thin line there.
Sean Zak, senior writer (@sean_zak): It will not be called “out of control”, but “uncontrolled”. Event organizers clearly do not have proper protocols to manage indomitable verbal abuse. I think you’ve seen them remove some heck puppets from some pairings. IE Can bring your ridiculous performance to another part of the propertynot the period when they were expelled. I won’t behave like simple – but I don’t think there is enough control and from now on Hazeltine we will benefit more.
Associate Editor Jack Hirsh (@jr_hirshey): I think Rory McIlroy hit the nail on Sunday night’s comment. Golf can maintain a higher standard. The Ryder Cup and Phoenix Open are the only matches you can even hear Boos in the course. So far, have people called McIlroy Slurs and threw things at his wife, let alone the one screaming when European players hit the ball? There is a clear and obvious line that goes past and fans involved should be ashamed of themselves.
If something needs to be changed, what is that action?
Zach: Better communication – including Captain – hosts better messaging, better precedents set at the beginning of the week, and so on. Front it. on Saturday morning instead of Monday morning. Talk to fans and wait for the group half-hole to receive the worst. That didn’t happen.
Maxbury: Blatant and unquestionable behavior should not be tolerated and stopped completely. There needs to be enough staff to identify the instigator and remove it – not in a new location in the course, but outside the property.
Hesh: These are all good, but I saw a tweet on Monday. Because the pricing of tickets at this Ryder Cup is so ridiculous, the only affordable one is not afraid to retaliate for what they do. I think the price of PGA is high and they will appreciate the chance to watch the Ryder Cup.

The next Ryder Cup in Ireland’s Adare Manor is two years away, and now the conversation turns to who leads two squads. Is Luke Donald back three times in a row? Who leads the United States?
Zach: I guess Luke would want to know World Health Organization He objected, because the captain was often remembered in their competition. He won’t rush to make this decision and will have about six months to resolve it. That said, I bet he did it again. He seemed to like it very much.
For Americans… HMPH. The shortlist seems to be precious. Keegan Bradley, Stewart Cink, Brandt Snedeker, Jim Furyk and Tiger Woods. I think the best job is…anger. But I think Bradley will do a good job. This year’s large number of cups are out of control and often the situation is.
Maxbury: It sure sounds like Luke will strongly consider putting on three tops. I actually want to see Keegan get another shot if he can. It seems that American players like his leadership, which is what they say after the loss. Given the other name list of Sean floating, I’m not sure who the next draft pick is.
Hesh: Zach, I believe it was you who mentioned that the next Captain America should have a captain until he lost. Donald didn’t lose it, it seemed to have covered everything. Even if he wins three games and loses, he will still be one of the best European Ryder Cup captains.
For the United States, I don’t even know. Tiger seems to be the obvious choice, but is not sure if he can promote a team atmosphere in Europe. I say back to Steve Stricker. Not even sure why he wasn’t the captain of Rome.
Under Bethpage, Keegan Bradley had a chance to be a campaigner, although he chose not to pick himself, which in hindsight could hurt the American without him as a player. Should the US PGA avoid this in 2027 so Bradley has the opportunity to contribute as a player?
Zach: Well, we shouldn’t rely on Keegan Bradley, 41, as the best version of Keegan Bradley. Especially for many young Americans, they will certainly be better than the 41-year-old Keegs. It might make the most sense to offer Bradley this job tomorrow, saying, “If you happen to smash it in 18 months, we will deal with the action of the game again.”
Maxbury: Given Keegan’s performance in the last two years, he may want to be totally focused on joining the team himself! I’m sure the captain’s pressure was even more disturbing than it seemed. So yes, if Keegan is the draft pick, I agree with Sean – they should lock him up as soon as possible.
Hesh: I don’t think Keegan should be captaining in 2027, so that’s not a problem for me!
Robert MacIntyre won the Alfred Dunhill link championship with shortened weather, DP World Tour station, playing bucket list courses like old courses in St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns. Visiting these venues (and the aforementioned averages that usually produce), is Dunhill the most underrated stop in Pro Golf? If not, what is that?
Zach: It’s in a short list. The Australian Open is there, though. It usually visits some of the best golf balls on the planet, and Melbourne in December is a holiday destination in October, a better resort and cope with my Scottish friends.
Maxbury: From the perspective of absent eyes, I prefer the epic perspectives presented by the European masters, and the Swiss Crans-Sur-Sierre GC.
Hesh: It’s fun to know that St Andrews plays every year. Basically the AT&T Pebble Beach of the DP World Tour. I will also throw the Irish Open in the years that Royal County fell.
