Insiders predict Josh Jacobs will improve with the Packers in the second season

Run back to Josh Jacobs’ first five years of his career with the Raiders. After the 2023 season, Las Vegas is unwilling to re-sign Jacob for a long time.
He left the free agent and signed with the Packers. It’s a four-year, $48 million deal. The experienced RB studied Green Bay’s system in 2024 and remains one of his most productive seasons in the NFL. That’s why ESPN’s Rob DeMovsky said he believes Josh Jacobs can take a step with the Packers in his second season.

ESPN ranked in the top 100 ahead of the 2025 NFL season. The Packers running back to Josh Jacobs ranked 67th on that list. The 2024 season was his first year with the Packers. Jacobs scored 301 times for 1,329 rushing yards and a career-high 15 rushing touchdowns. ESPN’s Rob DeMovsky noted that this is all 17 games that began in 2024 and is one of six defenders with 300 or more carry.
In his first season with the Packers, Josh Jacobs had several explosive games, running over 10 yards. In fact, he has 33 sprints in 2024 for over 10 yards. In addition to being a quality RB on the ground, Jacob also contributed as a pass attacker. He scored 36 catches for 342 yards and scored a touchdown.

Packers RB Josh Jacobs mentioned how he feels in the Packers offense this year compared to 2024. Last season, Jacobs was learning a brand new offense, but still had a huge success. The biggest difference, Jacobs said, is: “I really don’t have to go there and think…I know most of the things we’re doing.” Can the 27-year-old offer more production in 2025?
Josh Jacobs is ready to join the Packers in another leading season. He has little competition in RB. Last year, he started all 17 games for Green Bay. In addition, he participated in 63% of the team’s offensive snapshots. Jacobs rushed for 1,653 yards in the Raiders’ second-to-season season. That’s the most in the NFL in 2022. Jacob was named RB’s first team. Green Bay hopes Jacobs will offer this level for their franchise. He signed a three-year contract with the Packers.
