IL Activation: Chapman, Yates – MLB Trade Rumors

Here are some of the more notable names activated from the injury list today…
- this giant Activated third baseman Matt Chapman Due to inflammation in the right hand, the list of injuries only took a week on the shelf. A versatile infielder Tyler Fitzgerald Selected as Triple-A, making room for Chapman on the active roster. Chapman played only 96 San Francisco games this year when he was missing due to a sprained right hand in June. He missed nearly a month due to his injury, after being activated in early July, hitting .200/.290/.365 in 31 games before returning to Illinois due to his pain. Chapman got Cortisson’s shot on the latest shelf, and both he and the Giants hoped he could hit him like his first half self (.243/.360/.452 in 65 games). As for Fitzgerald, he hit only .217/.278/.327 (73 WRC+) in 72 games this year, mostly due to his 15 home runs in 341 sets last year.
- Elsewhere in the NL West, Dodgers Activated veteran relief arm Kirby Yates From today’s list of injuries. He occupied Southpaw’s roster Blake SnellHe wants to enter the parent-child industry list. Yates was put on hold due to back pain and has not competed since July 26. He was put on the shelves after a tough month in July, surrendering to 6.00 ERA, averaging 5.95 FIP in eight appearances, but the Dodgers certainly hope his one-month layoff will help him get healthy in the final weeks of the season. Yates is arguably the best reliefist in the Rangers baseball game last year as he issued a 1.17 ERA with a 2.50 FIP and scored 33 saves in 61 games. This year, his era has surged to 4.31, but the 32.8% strikeout rate still provides some optimistic reasons because he is healthy and he will be able to change everything. Yates joins the Dodge Bulls that are currently relying on Blake Treinen and Ben Casparius In the evening game on the right.
