Ian Poulter will not cause problems for the Walker Cup team. But his son may

Cobblestone Beach, California – So, there is now a new Poulter that takes root or objection: Ian’s son Luke Poulter. He attended high school in Orlando, located in Circle Christian, and now attends the University of Florida. But he was born in England and played at the Walker Cup in Cypress Point. His father played in seven Ryder Cups but never had a Walker Cup. He became a professional player at the age of 20 – amateur golf was never his business.
Luke is tall and slim like his father, but he doesn’t have the flashy closet of his father (of course, he wore Team Duds this week. The son also has a calm, even manner, and nothing like the shaky character of his father. But they are very close, and Ian is just around the week, giving advice to the 10 GB and I players. In their accent and tone, the son sounds like a son and father.
“It’s funny: If I’m with my friends, my parents call me, my accent gets stronger, that’s happening,” Luke Poulter said Friday afternoon. He is 21, a junior at UF, plans to pass the graduation and then turn to a professional player. He lived in the United States for 17 years, but often spent the summer in England. In March this year, he won his first NCAA Championship. In June, he qualified everything between him and his first U.S. Open to the playoffs. (He lost.)

Luke majored in educational science. He is an honorary student this semester. He drove to Mercedes on campus on weekends. His father was folding his sweater and attending classes as a club professional at the same age. How big a difference has a generation made. His father is a serious high-energy car guy. At the time, a bad place was crossing a road in Bay Hill Development after Poulter performed well in Arnold’s game. Luke once drove his father’s Ferrari FF. Nearby. “It’s enough,” the son said.
During his heyday, Poulter was a Cobra player. Luke plays the champion. Cobra is a semi-hobby. Titleist is your classic institutional golf club. Read some content – but not too much.
Luke had a stress fracture in his back last summer, which prevented him from playing golf for seven months. It heals through rest. He has become stronger in every way.
Luke doesn’t remember his now 49-year-old father is a Ryder Cup star, but he knows the legend and he’s already seen the highlights. He saw what we saw, and Ian Poulter’s eyes almost fell off?
“Hundred percent,” Luke said. “That’s how he plays, that’s when he shows his passion, everything comes out.”
Literally!
The son had his mother’s eyes, and he penetrated deeply. Luke Poulter is also the son of Ian Poulter and Katie Poulter.
