White Sox gets Miguel Castro from Astros

White Sox is getting right-handed Miguel Castro Robert Murray from the Astronaut is reportedly. Astros general manager Dana Brown told Chandler Rome that Houston received cash notes.
Castro, 30, signed a minor league contract with the Astros during the offseason. He has since hit 19 2/3 innings with an average running of 2.29 in the third-level A. His walking rate is a bit high at 10.1%, but his opponent accounts for 25.3% while also getting 44% of the ball in the game.
Despite these numbers, it seems that the Astronauts aren't going to call him, so they trade him. According to KPRC 2's Ari Alexander, Castro's deal will be on the June 3rd opt-out date.
The White Sox is rebuilding without a strong relief group. Overall, their bullpen has 4.42 ERA, putting them at the bottom of the Major League Baseball team. Given that they are 14-30 and at the bottom of the American League rankings, they presumably plan to install Castro into the bullpen to see if he can be a playoff trade candidate. Assuming they plan to call him before he opt out, they will need to open a 40-person position for him.
Castro occasionally became a useful pitcher in the major leagues, despite the decline in performance in recent seasons. His ground ball speed is quite always close to 50%, and his walking rate is usually a little higher than average. Strike-ups are sometimes high, but there is a clear downward trend. He peaked at 33% in 2020, but the figure fell to 25.4% in 2021, 23.7% in 2022 and 22.4% in 2023 to 23.7%.
Last year, he started with a rattlesnake but fell on the list of injured due to an inflammation of his shoulder in mid-April. He stayed there for about three months, recovered in July, but was released in early August. During his tenure at IL, he threw 13 2/3 innings with a strikeout rate of 5.93 ERA and 12.5%. Based on his minor league numbers this year, it is possible that he will leave his shoulder issues behind and recover in good shape.
