Game Preview
The Pistons and the Knicks tied 1-1 in the first round of the Eastern Conference. Detroit won the series in 100-94 games Monday, ending a 15-playoff streak.
Detroit attempted to win back-to-back playoff games for the first time since Game 4 and 5 of the 2008 Eastern Conference semi-finals against the Orlando Magic.
The Pistons blew up an eight-fourth lead in Saturday's first game loss and he was able to stop New York from planning another late comeback in Game 2.
Cade Cunningham finished the game with 33 points, and Jalen Duren was forced to play an extra few minutes with Stewart, recording 12 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks and a steal.
Meanwhile, Jalen Brunson scored a top 37 points for the Knicks, while Karl-Anthony Towns scored just 23 of 14 shots, 10 points in Game 1, with just 10 points. He only scored three shots in the second half.
“If they were going to commit to two or three people on him, I don't want him to force a shot,” said Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau. “But he can do something, we can do it to get him a second and third look, so that's what we have to try to do.
