Does everyone like that little two-week break? Golf in the U.S. has dominated the opening game of the U.S. football season over the past few weeks since Tommy Fleetwood successfully won his first PGA Tour victory at the Tour Championship. But, if you want, golf is back for a tween season, and of course, at the end of this month we also held the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in New York.
Welcome to FedEx Cup Fall. Starting this week in Napa, California, the Procore champion will be the first of seven games between now and mid-November to determine that another 30 players will retain their tour in the upcoming 2026 season. The top 70 FedEx Cup, which entered the playoffs last month, is already eligible for the 2026 campaign. Those who can make the top 100 FedExcup points this fall swing will also ensure tour form for the 2026 season.
The North Track at Silverado Country Club in Napa is the venue for events this week, and when it comes to the Ryder Cup, every member of Team USA is playing this week except for Xander Schauffele and Bryson DeChambeau. Silverado’s course has just exceeded 7,100 yards and can hit 72. The winning score proposition bet on Westgate Las Vegas Super Book is 266.5, meaning 21.5. The fairway is narrow and shaded, but rough but short, not very punishment. Of course, we are in Northern California, and the combination of Bentgrass and Poa Annua Greens is not uncommon in these areas.
I prefer Silverado’s t-shirt efficiency over my driving distance, but the length isn’t hurt either. I looked at the stroke: I opened the T-shirt and got the good drive. Getting closer to the game is the key to the usual. Players will have to negotiate many dog legs this week, so hitting will be very important. The most important thing, though, is to play close to the game at 100-150 yards. Then, of course, I looked at the strokes: matched with Bentgrass and Poa Annua to blend together.
2025 Procore Championship Odds: US Ryder Cup Team Dominates

Kevin Cunningham
For me this week, I only have three related courses, and these are TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas. Similar lengths, tree-shaded fairways, very non-textured rough and stressed on fire. Pebble Beach has the characteristics of Northern California as well as Poa Annua Greens, and again emphasizes the fight. Finally, the Detroit Golf Club played Rocket Classic there. Driving efficiency, competing for a wedge effect of 100-150 is a common foundation with Silverado here.
Mavericks McNeley (29-1)
You have to wonder if missing the Ryder Cup team will get him to shoot for something impressive this week. He has indeed been playing the best golf in his career last year and finished second in Napa and Pebble Beach in 2021. He scored the top 10 in TPC Summerlin and Detroit’s TPC. Growing up on Pebble Beach, McNealy was very familiar with the area and golf courses and was one of the best putts on the field.
JJ Spaun (29-1)
I’m not sure what’s going on in the head of JJ Spaun, the best season of his career, heading to his first Ryder Cup game now, but I do like him and it’s perfect for this golf course. He was very effective from the tee, a great ball shooter, and grew up in Southern California, and he was also very familiar with these putting surfaces. He was ranked 11th and 9th in Napa and Summerlin and Detroit, and 16th in Pebble Beach.
Davis Thompson (50-1)
This is one of the first players to jump off my page this week because he is a good driver for golf and his wedge is a great suit from 100-150 yards. In related courses, this is also good. In addition to his top 10 in Napa in 2022, he ranked fifth in TPC Summerlin in 2024 and finished second in Detroit the same year.

Andrew Putnam (200-1)
Now, we are trapped in a few triple-digit bombs. Putnam is another West Coast native who grew up in Washington and attended Southern California and currently lives in the Phoenix area. He finished in the top 20 four times at TPC Summerlin. He finished sixth in Pebble Beach and sixth earlier this summer, and he finished eighth in Rocket Classic in Detroit. Putnam is very effective on the tee and is excellent in approach, especially from the 100 yards inside. Like McNelly, Putnam has elite short-lived games.
Taylor Montgomery (225-1)
The Las Vegas native also showed that he could do well in nearby California. Montgomery is one of the best putts in the game, ranking third in Napa in 2022. He has been ranked 17th in this field in the last 24 rounds, finishing 17th in the field, finishing 17th in 5 shots and second in 5 strokes. If the tee work can match his short match this week, the long photo will compete again.
