The 2025 hard-court event was won by first-time ATP Tour champion Mencic, who defeated Novak Djokovic in the championship match. The 20-year-old Czech player returns to the Hard Rock Stadium this year as No. 13 in the PIF ATP Rankings.
Alcaraz, ranked No. 1 in the world, won in Miami in 2022 and arrived in South Florida with a 16-1 record, according to the Infosys ATP Win-Loss Index. Alcaraz became the youngest player to complete a career Grand Slam at the Australian Open before winning his 13th ATP 500 title in Doha, while Daniil Medvedev made the perfect start to the season with a semi-final in Indian Wells.
Second-seeded Sinner is also a former Miami champion, having won the title in 2024. The Italian, hoping to complete the coveted “Sunshine Double” for the first time since winning the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, will find out his first-round opponent in Monday’s draw at 1pm local time (ET).
On home soil, top-10 stars Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton will spearhead the fight for a first U.S. men’s singles title since John Isner in 2018 in Miami.
