Hornets’ Brandon Miller out at least two more weeks with shoulder injury – Basketball Insider

Charlotte Hornets guard Brandon Miller will miss at least two weeks after being diagnosed with loose left shoulder. The injury was confirmed by the team.

He will be re-evaluated in two weeks, after which a timetable will be provided in due course.

Miller opened the season with 25 points and seven assists in a win over the Brooklyn Nets. He was injured in Charlotte’s second game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The 22-year-old is the second overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. He has appeared in 103 career games, including 97 starts. During this period, Miller averaged 18.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.

He played only 27 games last season due to a right wrist injury.

Hornets will rely on Knuupel, Bridges, Sexton

Charlotte is off to a 3-4 start against the Brooklyn Nets, Washington Wizards and Utah Jazz. They face the New Orleans Pelicans next Tuesday.

With Miller out, that means increased usage for the likes of Con Knoupel, Miles Bridges and Collin Sexton.

Knuupel scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the team’s most recent game against the Jazz. Bridges scored 29 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists, becoming the team’s leading scorer. While LaMelo Ball rested, Sexton was the team’s main playmaker, scoring 10 points and dishing out 12 assists.

In addition to the Pelicans, the Hornets will certainly be tested in the coming weeks. They have the Heat, Lakers, Bucks (twice) and Thunder all set to make the list.

Charlotte’s four losses so far have all come to playoff-bound teams.
