Hobart International: Emma Raducanu vs. Camila Osorio postponed due to rain

Britain’s Emma Raducanu will return to action on Wednesday after rain stopped her first-round match against Camila Osorio at the Hobart International Arena.

Raducanu, who is seeking her first win of the 2026 season, led the Colombian 6-3 2-4 when play was suspended.

It was a back-and-forth game, with both players struggling in the windy conditions and Osorio struggling with a persistent cough.

The first three games of the first set were against serve, and then Raducanu fought back and defeated his wild card opponent in just 45 minutes and got off to a good start.

Osorio, ranked 82nd in the world, found new momentum in the second set. She hit four winners in the first set and used a backhand slice to break Raducanu’s serve.

After a 30-minute break, the players returned to the court with only two points, but the heavy rain came again.

Raducanu, whose offseason has been interrupted by a foot injury, is playing her final match before the Australian Open starts on Sunday.

Poland’s Magdalena Fretsch easily defeated France’s Elsa Jacquemot earlier today 6-4 6-0, with the quarterfinals awaiting either Raducanu or Osorio.
